Andrea H. LaCava, 89, of Barnstable, passed away on October 13, 2016. She was the beloved wife to the late Gregory LaCava. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Andrea attended the Ellis School and later graduated from Miss Porter's School in Farmington, CT. During her childhood years, she would summer in Hyannis Port with relatives and friends, enjoying the sand, sun and cool Cape Cod breezes. Later in life, she found her calling to become a cherished domestic engineer, raising two children, always providing a warm and loving home and delicious home-cooked dinner.

After retirement in the 1980's, Andrea and Gregory moved to the Cape permanently to enjoy spending time with each other and their dogs; Andrea loved frequenting The Beach Club and the Hyannis Port Club. She became an avid gardener, growing everything from the most beautiful plants and flowers to the oddest ones you have ever seen. When she wasn't busy entertaining family and friends, Andrea would contribute much of her time to the Cotuit Library as well as being an active member of St. Peter's Church in Osterville, she always had a passion to give back to the community and to help those in need. Andrea will be best remembered for her funny remarks, her dedication to her children and her smile, which would lighten anyone's mood, she will truly be missed by all.

Andrea is survived by her daughter, Victoria H. LaCava of Milton, and her son Gregory R. LaCava and his wife Charissa Rogers of Newport, RI. A celebration of Andrea's life will take place Thursday, November 10th at 11a.m. at St. Andrew's by the Sea, Hyannis Port, MA.
