Leon F. Billman, 84

Leon F. Billman, of Marstons Mills, died April 1, 2015.
Born July 13, 1930, in New Oxford, Pa., he grew up in Bronx, N.Y., and retired to Cape Cod in 1994 from Sandy Hook, Conn. Leon was the son of the late George and Helen Billman.

He worked for the Grand Union Co. in Mount Kisco, N.Y., and was retired from Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown, Conn.
Leon enjoyed his family, candlepin bowling with the Barnstable Newcomers Club, Patriots football, and playing pool with his friends. He was also...

Leon F. Billman, of Marstons Mills, died April 1, 2015.
Born July 13, 1930, in New Oxford, Pa., he grew up in Bronx, N.Y., and retired to Cape Cod in 1994 from Sandy Hook, Conn. Leon was the son of the late George and Helen Billman.

He worked for the Grand Union Co. in Mount Kisco, N.Y., and was retired from Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown, Conn.
Leon enjoyed his family, candlepin bowling with the Barnstable Newcomers Club, Patriots football, and playing pool with his friends. He was also treasurer of the Barnstable Triad and had been a volunteer with the Barnstable Police Department at their Hyannis sub-station.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Knapp Billman; a brother, George Billman Jr. and his wife Evie of Hanover, Pa.; and a sister, Shirley Conot of Yonkers, N.Y. He is also survived by his five children: Jacqueline Bradshaw of North Carolina, Douglas Markland and his wife Judi of Riverdale, N.Y., Leon Billman Jr. and his wife Kathy of Lake Carmel, N.Y., Christine Pender and her husband Patrick of South Easton, Mass., and William Hanson and his wife Juli of Greenbackville, Va. Leon had seven grandchildren, Timothy Chapman, Kristin Chapman, Victoria Billman, Shannon Pender, David Pender, Sydney Hanson, and Taylor Hanson; and four great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by granddaughter Jennifer Chapman.

A visiting hour and service will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St., Hyannis, followed by a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m.
