Accokeek, MD - Marilyn D. (Raneo) Galvin formerly of W. Hyannisport, MA, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2017. Born on March 25, 1934 in Harwich, MA, she was the daughter of the late Henry B. Raneo and Eva (Andrews) Raneo. Marilyn was a graduate of Harwich High School and Cape Cod Hospital School of Attendant Nursing Program.

A lifelong resident of Cape Cod, Marilyn's nursing career included working at numerous nursing homes, private duty nursing and she retired from the May Institute at the age of 78.

Raneo and Eva (Andrews) Raneo. Marilyn was a graduate of Harwich High School and Cape Cod Hospital School of Attendant Nursing Program.

A lifelong resident of Cape Cod, Marilyn's nursing career included working at numerous nursing homes, private duty nursing and she retired from the May Institute at the age of 78.

Marilyn was as strong willed and sharp witted as she was loving and caring. When you walked through her door you automatically became part of the family and she bestowed her wisdom, opinions and guidance freely.

Her passions included her family, her friends, her T.V. shows, crossword puzzles and food.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Anne Walker and her beloved daughter Vicky Lynn (Souza) Mendes.

She is survived by her children, Michael Souza (Jay Hurley) of Hyannis, Veronica (Jim) Miller of Windham, ME, Carlene (Terry) Harris of Raleigh, NC, Henry (Elise) Galvin of Hyannis and Nicole (Perryn) Oliphant of Accokeek, MD, Yvonne Galvin Brown of Palm Coast, Florida, Douglas Galvin, Jr. of Hyannis and Kim (Marco) Herrera of Mashpee; her legacy also includes 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; her brothers, Albert (Josephine) Raneo, Sr. and Standly (Marsha) Miranda; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
